Is nice to hear stories like this because being bilingual and understanding our multicultural world we live are the essential skills all students need for the 21 century. I teach in a small district in San Diego and unfortunally our parents and administrators need to be better inform to make best choices for the future of students. Instead of decreasing bilingual classrooms, parents should get facts like this and administrators should be sharing the stories in order for parents to make better decisions for their children!!!

I have trouble spelling, I've almost given up handwriting. I struggled to write a "thank-you' card and ending up sending an email. I didn't have this problem while studying German in college. For me, the syntax was more harmonious. It sounds like it spells. I understand your point about the translation of the number value. Wow! Great Blog. It made me wonder how the meanings and implications of words change from mouth to pen to keyboard to thumbs on a text message. Words can change in translation with language but do they also change with technology & medium?
